The weather station is a gift from the Beck family in memory of Henry M. Beck, Sr.  Mr. Beck had a lifelong interest in the Lake and meteorology and was one of the advocates for and founding member of the Lake Management Advisory Committee.

The gift will permit the Town to establish a Columbia Lake Weather Station with online access. The equipment can monitor and report the weather at Columbia Lake for the benefit of the Town's Lake Management Advisory Committee, the Town's Recreation Department, other Town Departments with an interest and Town residents.
