The Town of Columbia is now accepting applications for a full-time Highway Maintainer for the Public Works Department.
The hourly rate is $32.21.
Must have a valid Connecticut Commercial Motor Vehicles Operators license “CDL Class B with air brake endorsement (minimum) or Class A with tanker and air brake combination endorsement preferred.
This is skilled highway maintenance work of moderate difficulty for the purpose of maintaining, repairing, constructing and cleaning town roads, drainage facilities and other town facilities. This position also has the responsibility for making routine highway maintenance decisions involving equipment operations and maintenance and safe driving and safe work practices. The work requires that the employee have good knowledge, skill and ability in heavy equipment operations, basic preventive maintenance procedures, and safe driving and work practices.

The base work week of this full-time position is scheduled for 6:30-3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
