The TOWN OF COLUMBIA will receive sealed Bid Proposals for the Columbia Volunteer Fire Department (CVFD) Firehouse Roof Project No. 9 – 2022 located at 167 Route 66, Columbia, CT. The project entails re-roofing three sides of the apparatus garage portion of the new firehouse. The project would consist of removing and disposing of the existing shingles, replacing any rotted or damaged plywood. Re roofing up to current building codes using “GAF weatherwood” asphalt shingles, two rows of “weather guard” ice and water underlayment, “GAF FeltBuster” synthetic underlayment, all plywood seams to be taped, and 1 1/4'’ electrogalvanized coiled roofing nails, or equivalent materials. It also consists of removing metal around the cupola and applying ice and water/ stepflashing to watertight the cupola and reinstall coil metal around cupola.
Solar Panels will be removed prior to re-roofing.

The Sealed bids will be received at the Adel Urban Town Administration Building, located at 323 Route 87, Columbia Connecticut until 2:00 PM 10/12/22. Bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud at the same location immediately following the RFP’s deadline time of 2:00 PM. Bids received after the specified closing time will not be accepted and will be returned to the prospective bidder unopened.
