The Town of Columbia is pleased to announce a combined Story Walk & Trunk-or-Treat event, scheduled for Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Columbia Recreation Park, located at 60 Hennequin Road. This family-friendly gathering offers a safe and engaging way for residents to celebrate the autumn season while fostering community connection. The evening will begin at 4:30 PM with a Story Walk, beginning at the upper pavilion, featuring a fun book read by local residents along the park’s walking path. This interactive experience encourages literacy and outdoor exploration for young readers and their families. There will also be free donuts offered during this time. From 5:00 to 7:00 PM, the park will host Trunk-or-Treating, where local families and organizations will decorate vehicle trunks and distribute candy to costumed attendees. Participants are encouraged to showcase creativity in both costumes and trunk designs. The PTO will be selling concessions out of the upper pavilion to support their many different programs such as mini grants for teachers. To further support Columbia’s students, the 8th Grade Parent Committee will be in the upper pavilion with a Pumpkin Craft, offering fun seasonal activities and accepting donations to benefit the graduating class. Additionally, Rissa Clark of Clark Creative CT, a local professional photographer, will be on-site offering mini photo sessions. Families are invited to take advantage of this opportunity to purchase high-quality portraits in costume and commemorate the evening.
This event is free to attend and open to the public. We invite all residents to enjoy an evening of seasonal celebration, community engagement, and family fun.
