6/18/26 at 2:45 pm - TORNADO WATCH ISSUED FOR HARTFORD, TOLLAND AND WINDHAM COUNTIES UNTIL 7:00 PM

Tornado Watches have been issued for a large part of New England, including Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties in Connecticut until 7:00 PM.
A line of thunderstorms with a few embedded tornadoes is moving from west to east thru eastern New York at this time. On its current trajectory, this line is forecast to remain just north of Connecticut this afternoon; however, models are indicating that additional thunderstorms may form at the southern end of the line during the next few hours.

The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has placed our area into the Slight Risk Category for severe thunderstorms for this afternoon. This includes a 2% risk for tornadoes over northern CT and a 5% risk of tornadoes farther north.

The SPC is currently forecasting that any thunderstorms that develop will have a 15% chance of containing strong winds, a 2% chance for tornadoes and less than a 5% chance for large hail.
Other hazards may include brief torrential downpours and dangerous lightning.
